Portable LED PAPI – 2 box APAPI was supplied and certified for aircraft use while flight testing steep approaches. The ICAO compliant LED PAPI, expertise of Aviation Renewables and capabilities of the aircraft are critical parts of the certification process for an aircraft’s capability to operate in an airport or airfield at any location worldwide.

Aviation Renewables was able to supply an LED PAPI (2 box APAPI) with a custom designed frangible mounting structure for temporary use during the testing certification process.

The 2 box PAPI unit was easily adjusted through the range of approach angles required during the testing, and was accepted in combination with GPS and Radar Altimeter for the steep approaches.
